Tron Young is an accomplished educator and inspiring leader whose career in education spans more than two decades. Throughout that time, he has served in a variety of impactful roles, including middle school teacher, elementary principal, middle school principal, and assistant superintendent of educational services. Dr. Young’s leadership has made a significant impact on the educational landscape, earning him prestigious recognition, including the 2020 Illinois Middle School Principal of the Year award. The honor reflected his ability to cultivate an inclusive, student-centered, and engaging school culture.

His influence was further recognized when he received the Illinois NASSP National Distinguished Principal of the Year award, affirming his commitment to educational excellence, equity, and student success. Throughout his career, Dr. Young has earned numerous honors that reflect his deep commitment to education and student success. He received the Illinois Education Association Bob Haisman “Teacher of the Year Award,” recognizing his excellence in teaching and his ability to inspire students. He was also named the 100 Black Men United Educator of the Year for his dedication to mentorship, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of underrepresented students. In 2023, he was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Leadership, further reinforcing his reputation as a transformative educational leader.
